Increased levels of poverty, limited economic opportunities, and inhibiting cultural practices that marginalize certain groups create environments where teenage mothers, young sex workers, teen-led households and persons with disability face multiple forms of discrimination and exclusion

Over the past fifteen years, we have witnessed the transformative power of dignified support, comprehensive empowerment, and committed advocacy in the lives of teenage mothers, young sex workers, teen-led households and persons with disability

NKOKO IJU AFRICA (NIA) strategic plan 2025-2028 continues to upscale and expand our track record of serving over 5,000 young beneficiaries. NIA has achieved notable outcomes such as a 98% viral suppression rate through our EmpowerHER project. It represents our evolution from a community-based organization providing community based essential services to a recognized leader in advocacy for social justice. The next three years will be defined by our commitment to sustainable impact through strengthening partnerships, and ensuring that every young person within our program not only survives but thrives with dignity and purpose. This strategic plan, echoes our affirmation and belief that when young people are empowered with the right social support, they become powerful agents of change within their communities
